Job Overview

The Senior Mine Safety Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive safety programs for BHP’s mining activities in Renk. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive mine safety management systems aligned with global best practices.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits across all operational sites.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analyses, and develop corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety considerations into project design and execution.

Required Skills

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in mine safety engineering, with at least three (3) years in a senior or lead role overseeing large‑scale mining operations. Experience working in emerging markets or African mining projects is an advantage.

Salary
