Job Overview

The Senior Agricultural Finance Analyst will lead the design, evaluation, and implementation of financing solutions for agribusinesses and value chain projects in South Sudan. Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, the analyst will work closely with project teams, government agencies, and private sector partners to structure loans, equity investments, and blended finance instruments that address the specific challenges of the agricultural landscape. This position plays a critical role in expanding IFC’s portfolio, ensuring rigorous risk assessment, and delivering measurable development outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and originate high-potential agribusiness investment opportunities across South Sudan.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, cash‑flow modeling, and risk assessments for proposed projects.
  • Structure and negotiate financing packages, including loans, equity, guarantees, and blended finance solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop project proposals, business plans, and sustainability assessments.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, prepare periodic reports, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Provide technical advisory services to clients on financial management, market development, and capacity building.
  • Lead due diligence processes, ensuring compliance with IFC’s environmental and social standards.
  • Represent IFC at conferences, workshops, and policy dialogues to promote investment in South Sudan’s agriculture sector.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Deep understanding of agricultural value chains, commodity markets, and rural finance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; familiarity with financial software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in challenging environments and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Education

A Master’s degree in Finance, Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or Agribusiness Finance credentials are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in agricultural finance, investment banking, development finance, or consultancy, with a proven track record of structuring and managing large‑scale financing transactions in emerging markets.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 30,000,000 SSP to 45,000,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based incentives and benefits aligned with IFC’s global standards.
