Job Overview

The Regional Quality Assurance Manager will lead Nestlé’s quality assurance activities across South Sudan, ensuring that all products meet the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 22000, HACCP, and Nestlé Global Food Safety standards.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, tracked, and closed in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and R&D teams to embed quality considerations into product design and manufacturing processes.
• Monitor and analyze quality metrics, generating reports for senior leadership and recommending continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for South Sudanese regulatory agencies, ensuring all product registrations, certifications, and inspections are completed successfully.
• Train and mentor local quality staff, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and proactive problem solving.
• Manage supplier qualification and performance monitoring to guarantee raw material integrity and compliance with Nestlé standards.
• Oversee product recall procedures, ensuring rapid response and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Support the rollout of new product launches, conducting risk assessments and validation studies.
• Drive sustainability initiatives related to waste reduction, resource efficiency, and responsible sourcing within the quality framework.

Required Skills

• In‑depth knowledge of food safety regulations, ISO 22000, HACCP, and GFSI standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a data‑driven approach to quality improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams.
• Proficiency in quality management software and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC).
• Leadership experience with a track record of building high‑performing quality teams.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or local languages is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in quality assurance within the food and beverage sector, including at least three years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience working in emerging markets or in South Sudan is advantageous, as is familiarity with local regulatory requirements.

Salary
