Job Overview
The Regional Quality Assurance Manager will lead Nestlé’s quality assurance activities across South Sudan, ensuring that all products meet the highest safety and quality standards. The role involves developing and implementing quality management systems, overseeing audits, and collaborating with production, supply chain, and regulatory teams. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 22000, HACCP, and Nestlé Global Food Safety standards.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, tracked, and closed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and R&D teams to embed quality considerations into product design and manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics, generating reports for senior leadership and recommending continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for South Sudanese regulatory agencies, ensuring all product registrations, certifications, and inspections are completed successfully.
- Train and mentor local quality staff, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and proactive problem solving.
- Manage supplier qualification and performance monitoring to guarantee raw material integrity and compliance with Nestlé standards.
- Oversee product recall procedures, ensuring rapid response and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Support the rollout of new product launches, conducting risk assessments and validation studies.
- Drive sustainability initiatives related to waste reduction, resource efficiency, and responsible sourcing within the quality framework.
Required Skills
- In‑depth knowledge of food safety regulations, ISO 22000, HACCP, and GFSI standards.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a data‑driven approach to quality improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in quality management software and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC).
- Leadership experience with a track record of building high‑performing quality teams.
- Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or local languages is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in quality assurance within the food and beverage sector, including at least three years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience working in emerging markets or in South Sudan is advantageous, as is familiarity with local regulatory requirements.
Salary
