Job Overview
The Data Center Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of Microsoft’s Bentiu data center, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of all critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the data center operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and maintain all critical systems, including power, cooling, networking, and server hardware, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Develop and execute capacity planning strategies to accommodate growth in cloud workloads and customer demand.
- Implement and enforce security protocols, compliance standards, and disaster recovery procedures in line with Microsoft’s global policies.
- Coordinate with Microsoft’s regional and global support teams to resolve escalated incidents promptly.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules, hardware upgrades, and lifecycle management of equipment.
- Prepare detailed operational reports, performance metrics, and cost analyses for senior leadership.
- Drive initiatives to improve energy efficiency and sustainability of the data center, aligning with Microsoft’s carbon‑negative goals.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
- Mentor and develop technical staff, providing training pathways and career growth opportunities.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, HVAC, networking, and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g., System Center Operations Manager, Azure Monitor) and incident management platforms.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
- Leadership experience with a proven track record of managing technical teams.

Salary
