Job Overview
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems for TotalEnergies’ upstream facilities in Juba and surrounding fields. This role involves overseeing the mechanical integrity of pipelines, compressors, pumps, and processing equipment, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and engineering of new production facilities, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budget constraints.
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, guaranteeing adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular integrity assessments, root‑cause analyses, and corrective actions for existing assets.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and process engineers to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly.
- Manage relationships with EPC contractors, vendors, and local service providers, monitoring performance and compliance.
- Develop and update technical documentation, including datasheets, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians.
- Participate in risk assessments, HSE audits, and emergency response planning.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, or SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of API, ISO, and local regulatory standards for oil & gas equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in remote and challenging environments.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or local languages is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or API 570 are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to industry best practices.
Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in mechanical engineering within the oil & gas sector, preferably with exposure to upstream projects in Africa. Experience managing large‑scale installations, overseeing contractor performance, and implementing reliability‑centered maintenance programs will be considered strong assets.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 30,000,000 to SSP 45,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes statutory benefits, performance bonuses, and expatriate allowances where applicable.
