Job Overview
Chevron South Sudan is seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance Officer to lead environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance efforts for our oil and gas projects in Juba. This role is critical to ensuring our operations align with both international standards and South Sudanese environmental regulations. The position offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge energy projects while contributing to the country’s sustainable development goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and company policies
- Develop and implement environmental management plans
- Collaborate with government agencies on permitting and reporting requirements
- Lead field audits to ensure adherence to environmental standards
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in environmental regulations (South Sudan and international)
- Strong analytical skills for environmental data interpretation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Proficiency in environmental monitoring software and GIS tools
- Ability to work in remote field locations
- Problem-solving skills for environmental risk mitigation
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental compliance within the oil and gas sector. Experience in South Sudan or neighboring regions is an advantage.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
