Job Overview
The Environmental Conservation Specialist will play a key role in our conservation efforts in South Sudan. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing conservation projects, working with local communities, and collaborating with government agencies and other stakeholders to protect and preserve the natural environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation biology, or a related field, and will have experience working in a similar role. They will be passionate about the environment, have excellent communication and project management skills, and be able to work effectively in a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement conservation projects in South Sudan, including habitat restoration, species conservation, and community engagement
- Work with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote conservation efforts and protect natural habitats
- Conduct field research and monitoring to assess the effectiveness of conservation projects and identify areas for improvement
- Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other documentation related to conservation projects
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement conservation strategies and policies
Required Skills
- Strong background in environmental science, conservation biology, or a related field
- Experience working in a conservation role, preferably in a developing country
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
