Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team in Aweil, South Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading environmental assessments and impact studies, developing and implementing environmental management plans, and collaborating with local stakeholders to promote sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead environmental assessments and impact studies to identify potential environmental risks and opportunities
- Develop and implement environmental management plans to mitigate environmental impacts
- Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government agencies, communities, and NGOs, to promote sustainable development
- Conduct environmental monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with national and international environmental regulations
- Develop and implement training programs for local staff and stakeholders on environmental management and sustainable development
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field
- Proven track record of leading environmental assessments and impact studies
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field. Proven track record of leading environmental assessments and impact studies is essential.
Salary
The salary for this position is SSP 50,000 – 70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
