Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Conservation Specialist to join our team in Maridi, South Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading conservation efforts in the region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to protect and preserve natural habitats.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental conservation, with experience in project management, community engagement, and stakeholder coordination. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead conservation efforts in the Maridi region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and implement conservation projects, including habitat restoration, species protection, and community engagement
  • Coordinate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective conservation outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate conservation progress, making adjustments as needed to ensure project success
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and meeting project objectives

Required Skills

  • Strong background in environmental conservation, with experience in project management, community engagement, and stakeholder coordination
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to develop and implement conservation projects, including habitat restoration, species protection, and community engagement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to monitor and evaluate conservation progress
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and meeting project objectives

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field

Experience

5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation, with a strong background in project management, community engagement, and stakeholder coordination

Salary
