Job Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sustainable Urban Planning Specialist to join our team in Nimule, South Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the Government of South Sudan in the area of urban planning and development.
The Sustainable Urban Planning Specialist will work closely with government officials, local communities, and other stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable urban planning strategies that promote social, economic, and environmental development.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, a proven track record of working in developing countries, and excellent communication and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to the Government of South Sudan in the area of urban planning and development
- Develop and implement sustainable urban planning strategies that promote social, economic, and environmental development
- Work closely with government officials, local communities, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives
- Conduct field assessments and data analysis to inform urban planning decisions
- Develop and implement capacity-building programs for government officials and local communities
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in urban planning and development
- Proven track record of working in developing countries
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders
Education
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field from a recognized university.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in urban planning and development, with a proven track record of working in developing countries.
Salary
The salary for this position is 120,000 – 180,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
