We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Forestry Specialist to join our team in Kapoeta, South Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable forestry projects in the region, working closely with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders.
Job Overview

Salary: 100,000 – 150,000 SSP per annum

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainable forestry projects in the region, working closely with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct field assessments and surveys to identify areas of high conservation value and develop strategies for their protection.
- Collaborate with local communities to develop and implement community-led forest management plans.
- Provide technical assistance and training to local communities and government agencies on sustainable forestry practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of forestry projects on local communities and the environment.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Forestry or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in sustainable forestry or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of forestry practices and policies in South Sudan.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and build relationships with local communities and government agencies.
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Forestry or a related field. A Ph.D. in Forestry or a related field would be an added advantage.
Experience
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in sustainable forestry or a related field. Experience working in South Sudan or a similar context would be an added advantage.
Salary
The salary for this position is 100,000 – 150,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
