Job Overview
The Senior Sustainable Cement Production Engineer will lead the implementation of eco‑efficient processes at our Torit cement plant. This role is pivotal in driving the transition to low‑carbon production, optimizing energy consumption, and ensuring compliance with international environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sustainable production processes that reduce CO₂ emissions by at least 15% within the first two years.
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on energy efficiency, raw material utilization, and waste minimization.
- Conduct detailed process simulations and feasibility studies using advanced software tools.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure product specifications meet both local and international standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments, and environmental impact reports.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation and safety.
- Collaborate with external partners, NGOs, and government agencies to align plant operations with national sustainability goals.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in cement manufacturing processes, kiln operations, and material science.
- Proficiency in process simulation software such as HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive data‑based decisions.
- Excellent project management capabilities, including budgeting and timeline adherence.
- Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement across multicultural environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and other relevant environmental management standards.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications in sustainability, process engineering, or environmental management are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in cement production or heavy‑industry process engineering, with a proven track record of implementing sustainable initiatives. Experience working in emerging markets or challenging environments is an advantage.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 30,000,000 to SSP 45,000,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and pension contributions.
