Key Responsibilities
- Conduct reservoir performance analysis and monitoring using advanced engineering software
- Develop and maintain reservoir simulation models to predict future performance
- Design and optimize well placement and completion strategies for maximum recovery
- Perform reserves estimation and classification according to international standards
- Collaborate with geoscientists to integrate geological and engineering data
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and partners
- Monitor production data and recommend improvements to enhance recovery
- Participate in field development planning and economic evaluations
- Implement enhanced oil recovery techniques and technologies
- Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of reservoir engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (Eclipse, Petrel RE, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent data interpretation and numerical modeling skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of petroleum economics and risk analysis
- Familiarity with well test interpretation and production logging
- Understanding of enhanced oil recovery methods
- Project management and organizational skills
Education
Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or related field. Additional certifications in reservoir simulation or petroleum engineering are highly desirable. Continuous professional development in emerging technologies and methodologies is expected.
Experience
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in reservoir engineering, with at least 3 years in active field development roles. Experience in African oil fields, particularly in challenging geological environments, is preferred. Demonstrated success in reservoir characterization and development planning is essential.
