Job Overview

The Construction Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and supervising construction activities for major infrastructure projects in Juba and surrounding regions. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure that designs are executed accurately, schedules are met, and safety standards are upheld. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates in alignment with project goals.
  • Coordinate with architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Monitor construction progress, conduct site inspections, and resolve technical issues on‑site.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control procedures and ensure compliance with local building codes and international standards.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, schedule updates, and risk assessments for senior management.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies to protect workers and the community.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, including government officials and community representatives.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management tools.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic or local languages is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in construction engineering, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure projects in emerging markets. Experience working in South Sudan or similar environments is a plus.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from 30,000,000 to 45,000,000 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
