Job Overview

This Senior Project Coordinator role is pivotal in managing large-scale humanitarian projects, ensuring alignment with Oxfam’s strategic objectives. The position requires oversight of program implementation, stakeholder collaboration, and compliance with international aid standards. Candidates will contribute to South Sudan’s development agenda while supporting local communities in crisis-affected regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian projects in Juba and surrounding areas.
  • Coordinate with local governments, NGOs, and international partners to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for multi-sectoral initiatives (e.g., health, education, water sanitation).
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess project impact and address operational challenges.
  • Prepare reports for donors, including progress updates, risk assessments, and success metrics.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in project management within humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Strong understanding of South Sudan’s socio-political landscape and cultural sensitivities.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software (e.g., Salesforce, Asana).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and local languages (Dinka, Nuer) is an asset.

Education

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years in project coordination roles, with at least 2 years in South Sudan or neighboring regions. Experience in emergency response or conflict zones is highly advantageous.

Salary

500,000 – 700,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
