Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Nestlé’s quality assurance program at the Malakal manufacturing plant, ensuring compliance with international food safety standards, local regulations, and Nestlé’s internal policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 22000, HACCP, and Nestlé Global Food Safety standards.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are documented, tracked, and closed within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) across production lines, conducting risk assessments and root‑cause analyses for any non‑conformities.
  • Train and mentor quality assurance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Collaborate with R&D to validate new product formulations and ensure they meet safety and quality specifications before launch.
  • Oversee supplier qualification, raw material testing, and incoming goods inspection to guarantee compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports, trend analyses, and performance dashboards for senior management.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities to ensure all products meet South Sudanese food safety legislation.
  • Drive initiatives for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable sourcing within the quality framework.

Required Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of food safety standards (ISO 22000, HACCP, GFSI).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production schedules.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from 30,000,000 to 45,000,000 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual cost‑of‑living adjustments are part of the compensation package.
