Job Overview
Trimble Inc. seeks a Geospatial Data Analyst to support urban development projects in Lakang, South Sudan. This role will leverage geospatial tools to analyze land use patterns, monitor infrastructure projects, and support evidence-based planning for sustainable cities. The position offers opportunities to contribute to South Sudan’s urbanization goals while working with advanced mapping technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze geospatial data using GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Create detailed maps and visualizations for urban planning and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify land use challenges and opportunities.
- Integrate remote sensing data for environmental and urban monitoring.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and project teams.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools.
- Experience with geospatial data analysis and mapping for urban development.
- Strong understanding of South Sudan’s urban planning frameworks.
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in remote field environments.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Technology, Urban Planning, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in geospatial analysis, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Proven track record in urban development or infrastructure projects.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 SSP monthly, commensurate with experience.
