Job Overview
South Sudan is increasingly vulnerable to climate-induced disasters such as floods, droughts, and landslides. IOM South Sudan seeks a Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist to lead efforts in mitigating these risks through community engagement, policy development, and emergency preparedness planning. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and develop disaster preparedness plans for Rumbek and surrounding areas.
- Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and communities to implement early warning systems and emergency response protocols.
- Design and deliver training programs on disaster risk reduction (DRR) for community leaders and first responders.
- Monitor climate and environmental trends to identify emerging risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Education

Salary
