Job Overview
This role will drive the development of compelling digital narratives that highlight South Sudan’s cultural heritage, development challenges, and community resilience. The Digital Storytelling Specialist will collaborate with local producers, researchers, and technologists to create interactive content for web, mobile, and broadcast platforms. This position is ideal for a creative professional passionate about using technology to bridge communication gaps in post-conflict environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce multimedia storytelling projects (video, audio, interactive web content)
- Collaborate with local communities to document oral histories and traditional knowledge
- Develop digital campaigns that promote media literacy and youth engagement
- Integrate user-generated content into storytelling frameworks
- Conduct workshops on digital narrative techniques for local journalists
Required Skills
- Expertise in digital content creation tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro)
- Proficiency in interactive media design (HTML5, JavaScript basics)
- Strong understanding of South Sudanese cultural context
- Fluency in English and local languages (Dinka, Nuer preferred)
- Experience with social media analytics and engagement strategies
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Communication, or related field. Advanced degree in Cultural Anthropology or Conflict Resolution is a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in digital media production, preferably in emerging markets. Demonstrated track record in creating award-winning multimedia projects. Experience working in post-conflict environments is highly desirable.
Salary
150,000 – 250,000 SSP monthly, commensurate with experience and portfolio quality.
