Job Overview

This role is central to Voice of America South Sudan’s mission to amplify community narratives through multimedia content. The Community Media Producer will design, produce, and distribute media projects that reflect the diverse cultural and social dynamics of South Sudan. The position requires collaboration with local stakeholders, journalists, and creative professionals to develop content that educates, informs, and engages audiences. The role also involves leveraging digital tools to expand the reach of community-driven stories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, produce, and edit multimedia content (audio, video, and written) for broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with local communities to identify and co-create stories that highlight social issues, cultural heritage, and development initiatives.
  • Coordinate with field reporters, photographers, and editors to ensure high-quality content delivery.
  • Develop and implement content strategies aligned with organizational goals and audience needs.
  • Utilize digital tools and software for content editing, distribution, and audience engagement.
  • Conduct training workshops for community members on media production and digital storytelling.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in media production, with a focus on community-based storytelling.
  • Proficiency in audio/video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Audition).
  • Strong understanding of South Sudan’s cultural and social context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and at least one local language (e.g., Dinka, Nuer, or Arabic).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Advanced diploma or certification in digital media production is an advantage.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in media production, preferably in a community or international development context.
  • Previous work in South Sudan or neighboring regions is preferred.

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
