Job Overview

The Senior Mine Geology Analyst will lead geological investigations, data interpretation, and resource modeling for Glencore’s mining operations in Gogrial. Reporting to the Head of Exploration, the analyst will integrate field data, geophysical surveys, and laboratory results to produce high‑quality geological models that guide drilling programs and mine planning. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and supervise geological field programs, including mapping, sampling, and core logging.

  • Develop 3D geological models using industry‑standard software such as Leapfrog and Surpac.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, resource estimates, and feasibility study inputs.
  • Collaborate with mining engineers to translate geological models into mine design parameters.
  • Ensure compliance with South Sudanese mining regulations and international best practices.
  • Mentor and train junior geologists and field staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Education

A Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Mining Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Chartered Geologist (CGeol) or equivalent are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, resource estimation, and geological modeling, preferably within the African mining sector. Experience with base‑metal or precious‑metal projects is highly valued.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000,000 to SSP 250,000,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and relocation assistance where applicable.
