Key Responsibilities
- Lead site selection, feasibility studies, and wind resource assessments for the Kok wind farm.
- Secure all necessary permits and approvals from national and local regulatory bodies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and local benefits.
- Coordinate with finance teams to structure project financing, including equity, debt, and grant funding.
- Oversee detailed engineering design, procurement, and construction management activities.
- Implement health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics, reporting progress to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with international best practices and Microsoft’s sustainability policies.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in wind energy project development, from concept to commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of South Sudan’s regulatory framework for renewable energy.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Advanced analytical skills for resource modeling and financial modeling.
- Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
- Proficiency with project management software and GIS tools.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEM) are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in wind farm development, including at least 3 years in a senior management role overseeing large‑scale projects in emerging markets.
Salary
