Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Conservation Specialist to join our team in Yambio, South Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading conservation efforts in the region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to protect and preserve natural habitats.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental conservation, with experience in project management, community engagement, and stakeholder coordination. A master’s degree in environmental conservation or a related field is required, as well as a minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead conservation efforts in the Yambio region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement conservation projects, including habitat restoration, species conservation, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with local communities to develop and implement sustainable land-use practices, including agroforestry and permaculture.
  • Work with government agencies and other stakeholders to develop and implement policies and regulations that support conservation efforts.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of conservation projects, making adjustments as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Required Skills
  • Master’s degree in environmental conservation or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental conservation, with a focus on project management, community engagement, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of conservation principles and practices, including habitat restoration, species conservation, and sustainable land-use practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Education

    The successful candidate will hold a master’s degree in environmental conservation or a related field, with a strong background in conservation principles and practices.

    Salary

    The salary for this position is SSP 30,000 – 60,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
