Job Overview
The Sustainable Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist will play a key role in supporting the IFRC’s disaster risk reduction and management efforts in South Sudan. The successful candidate will have a strong background in disaster risk reduction and management, and will be able to work effectively with local communities, governments, and other partners to build resilience and reduce disaster risk.
The Sustainable Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
- Conducting risk assessments and developing disaster risk reduction plans for vulnerable communities
- Working with local communities and governments to build resilience and reduce disaster risk
- Providing technical assistance and support to local communities and governments on disaster risk reduction and management
- Developing and implementing training programs for local communities and governments on disaster risk reduction and management
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of disaster risk reduction and management efforts
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and develop disaster risk reduction plans for vulnerable communities
- Work with local communities and governments to build resilience and reduce disaster risk

Salary
