Job Overview

This role is part of WWF’s initiative to conserve South Sudan’s unique ecosystems. The Biodiversity Conservation Officer will lead field research, coordinate community outreach, and implement conservation strategies to protect threatened species and habitats. The position requires collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities to ensure long-term environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys to monitor wildlife populations and habitat conditions.
• Develop and execute conservation action plans for priority species.
• Engage with local communities to promote sustainable land-use practices.
• Collaborate with law enforcement to combat illegal wildlife trade.
• Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and donors.

Required Skills

• Expertise in biodiversity data collection and analysis.
• Strong project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental software.
• Ability to work in remote field conditions.
• Experience in grant writing and donor reporting.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.

Salary
