Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our team in Juba, South Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to UNEP’s environmental assessment and management activities in South Sudan.

The Environmental Consultant will work closely with government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders to identify and address environmental challenges, develop and implement environmental policies and programs, and promote sustainable development practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental assessments and develop reports on environmental impacts and mitigation measures
  • Develop and implement environmental policies and programs
  • Provide technical support to government officials and other stakeholders on environmental issues
  • Promote sustainable development practices and environmental awareness
  • Collaborate with NGOs and other stakeholders to address environmental challenges

Required Skills

  • Strong technical skills in environmental assessment and management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in South Sudan or similar environments

Education

A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is required.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental assessment and management is required.

Salary

The salary range for this position is 50,000 – 80,000 SSP per month.
