Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of assigned projects in line with World Vision’s technical approaches and donor requirements.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and compliance with financial policies.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local government authorities, community leaders, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare timely and accurate project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and impact assessments for internal and external audiences.
- Ensure projects adhere to humanitarian principles, safeguarding policies, and gender equality standards.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project operations.
- Supervise and mentor project staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in managing complex humanitarian or development projects, preferably in fragile contexts.
- Strong understanding of project cycle management, including proposal development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budget management, financial reporting, and donor compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a challenging environment.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Juba Arabic) is a significant advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree is required in International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, Disaster Management, or a closely related field. A Master’s Degree will be considered a distinct advantage.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management within the humanitarian or development sector. Experience working with international NGOs in South Sudan or similar contexts is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience in managing multi-sectoral projects (e.g., WASH, Food Security, Health) is also desirable.
Salary
