Job Overview

The Policy Advisor will work within UNDP’s Policy & Governance unit in Renk, supporting the design, analysis, and implementation of public policies that promote good governance, economic diversification, and social inclusion. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive policy research and analysis on governance, economic development, and social inclusion topics.
• Prepare policy briefs, reports, and recommendations for senior government officials and UNDP leadership.
• Facilitate multi‑stakeholder workshops and consultations to gather input and build consensus.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented policies, providing data‑driven insights for continuous improvement.
• Support the development of legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks that align with international best practices.
• Coordinate with UNDP country teams and external partners to ensure policy coherence and synergy.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize complex data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic or local languages is an advantage.
• Proven experience in policy formulation, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in challenging environments.

Education

A Master’s degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Economics, Development Studies, or a closely related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in project management or public administration are highly regarded.

Experience

Minimum of five years of professional experience in policy analysis, government advisory, or a comparable role within international development, think tanks, or public sector institutions. Experience working in post‑conflict or fragile settings is strongly preferred.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from 30,000,000 to 45,000,000 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
