We are seeking an experienced Aquaculture Specialist to join our team in Kapoeta, South Sudan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our aquaculture research and development programs in the region, working closely with local stakeholders and partners to develop and implement sustainable aquaculture practices.
Job Overview
The Aquaculture Specialist will be responsible for leading our aquaculture research and development programs in the region, working closely with local stakeholders and partners to develop and implement sustainable aquaculture practices. The successful candidate will have a strong background in aquaculture, with experience in leading research and development programs in developing countries.
The Aquaculture Specialist will be responsible for:
- Leading our aquaculture research and development programs in the region
- Working closely with local stakeholders and partners to develop and implement sustainable aquaculture practices
- Developing and implementing research and development plans to improve the productivity and sustainability of aquaculture systems
- Collaborating with local communities and stakeholders to promote the adoption of best practices in aquaculture management
- Providing technical assistance and support to local aquaculture farmers and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
- Lead our aquaculture research and development programs in the region
- Develop and implement research and development plans to improve the productivity and sustainability of aquaculture systems
- Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to promote the adoption of best practices in aquaculture management
- Provide technical assistance and support to local aquaculture farmers and stakeholders
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Aquaculture or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in aquaculture research and development
- Strong background in aquaculture, with experience in leading research and development programs in developing countries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Aquaculture or a related field. A Ph.D. in Aquaculture or a related field is an asset.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in aquaculture research and development, with a strong background in leading research and development programs in developing countries.
Salary
The salary for this position is 60,000 – 90,000 SSP per month, depending on experience.
